We are two restless adventurers who, after years of being avid travelers and having work experiences in different cities around the world, such as New York, Mexico City, San Francisco, and London, decided to make a change in our lives and embrace rural tranquility.

After many years immersed in the hustle and bustle of international work in overseas companies, we decided to embark on a new journey: managing a charming countryside hotel accommodation. This delightful inn is located in the stunning Saja-Besaya Natural Park, halfway between the majestic mountains of the Picos de Europa and the surprising Cantabrian Sea.

Although we continue exploring the world, we have found our home and refuge in the rural nature, close to the sea and surrounded by mountains in this region of Cantabria. A corner where life experiences blend with serene nature.

Gastro-Rural Experience

Oscar and Jordi aim to connect with guests by sharing their passions for travel, gastronomy, and nature.

We are committed to the “slow-food-life” style, enjoying gastronomy while living more slowly and consciously. It’s another way to be happy and fully enjoy a gastronomic and cultural rural escape.

That’s why in our kitchen we prioritize local, nearby, and Cantabrian products. Oscar loves creating culinary delights in a natural setting with our distinctive touch of alchemy. We want to create an authentic experience that envelops local gastronomy and our surrounding nature in Cantabria, creating an idyllic atmosphere to reconnect with the flavors and aromas of our past.

We are passionate about sharing all this amidst laughter, conversations, and good food.

Jumping,

our Travel Companion

The saying that dogs choose their humans is true: during a walk in Zahara de los Atunes (Cádiz), this cinnamon-colored pinscher approached us, jumping and wagging his tail. From that moment, we knew he would be part of our family.

“JUMPING” is his name, and he brought energy and joy into our lives, which he offers to everyone around him. Always happy, greeting our guests upon their arrival. He is a guardian of the inn who makes life more pleasant for all of us.

Oh, and he has become an influencer dog on Instagram:

Thanks to him, our rural accommodation became a “dog-friendly” hotel where well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Alongside the Most Beautiful Villages of Spain

In this area, there are four urban centers declared as historical-artistic sites: Bárcena Mayor, Tudanca, Carmona, San Vicente de la Barquera, Comillas and Santillana del Mar, where all the characteristics of traditional architecture are preserved.

The seafaring town of San Vicente de la Barquera occupies a strategic location that has been populated since time immemorial. It retains vestiges from the early medieval period, with walls, a fort, and a church situated in an elevated, easily defensible location. It is part of the Coastal Route to Santiago de Compostela.

Walking through the Saja-Nansa valley, discovering the source of the Ebro River, or enjoying the heart of the forests, full of flora and fauna, are more than enough reasons to come and explore this area with family, friends, in a group, or simply on a romantic getaway.
